After 64 years of 3 June Plan (or Mountbatten Plan), I just can't digest the fact that India & Pakistan went through the most tragic events ever recorded in history of humankind. The human nature died in that period and animal instincts of everyone ruled the nation.
Not sure about the author but one of most moving lines written about partition. These lines can take birth only from a great human being, who after having drenched himself in the nectar of life and death, rises to proclaim the truth.

हम डूब के समझे हैं दरियाओं की गहराई
चल आए मेरे हमसाया बरगद के तले बैठें
दीवार से आँगन में अब धूप उतार आई
चलते हुए बादल के साए में ता-आ-कूब में
यह तश्नलाबी मुझको सहराओं में ले आई
यह जबर भी देखा है तारीख की नज़रों ने
लम्हों ने खता की थी सदियों ने सज़ा पे
जिस वक़्त छिड़ा किस्सा वतन के तबाही का
क्यों आप की आँखों में उस वक़्त नामी आई
