Hazaron Khwahishen Aisi

I am a big fan of Mirza Ghalib and follow most of his shayari to read.



But what stand like class of its own is this "Hazaron Khwahishen Aisi"

I feel this like mine own story tols in simplest and shortest way.
I feel in same way that i m all alone and left with nothing but thousands of desire left to be fulfilled. nothing seems to coming in the way i want and then i turn to these words and feel that even if i am not very good at things i have desire to go ...

hazaaron Khvaahishen aisi ki har khwahish pe dam nikle
bahut nikle mere armaan lekin phir bhi kam nikle

niklana khuld se aadam ka sunte aaye hain lekin
bahut beaabaru hokar tere kuche se ham nikle

muhabbat mein nahin hai farq jine aur marne ka
usi ko dekh kar jite hain jis kaafir pe dam nikle

Khudaa ke vaste pardaa na kabe se uthaa zaalim
kahin aisa na ho yahan bhi vahi kaafir sanam nikale

yahan maikhaane ka daravaza 'Ghalib' aur kahaan vaaiz
par itna janate hain kal vo jantaa tha ke ham nikale
